The Synopsis
Thomas Pecore Weso shows a cook’s journey through Wisconsin’s woods. He takes each food—beaver, trout, fruit, wild rice, and shows us who taught him these values. Cooks will learn from the recipes, as historians hear firsthand stories about reservation life during the mid-twentieth century.
The Review
This is such a great book! I enjoyed learning about the history of the land and the tribe. I haven’t tried any of the recipes yet, but I’m sure i will soon, as they seem easy enough to follow. This book takes you on a journey and immerses you in a beautiful culture and lifestyle. So many memories and beautiful tales of growing up. You really get a feel for the author as he recounts his life and immerses you chapter by chapter into his life. This book is beautiful inside and out and I loved reading it. Thank you librarything for sending me this book in exchange for my honest review.

I love reading! Reading is pretty much everything to me. It's always an escape and a way to explore new places without leaving home. My love for reading started when I was little. I was always the kid with a book in hand or asking my parents to read to me! I'm pretty shy for the most part and while being awesome with people (in a customer service way, i.e. sales etc) I tend to be really quiet and clam up. (extreme introvert here)
Fun Facts:
-#Ravenclaw
-I am obsessed with video games and anime as well
-I collect tons of fandom funko's (IT, LOTR, Coraline etc)
-My favorite authors are Sarah J. Maas, Laurell K. Hamilton, Stephen King, and J.K. Rowling.
- I am obsessed with horror. While most stuff is pretty cheesy these days, I enjoy Stephen King bc he writes with such depth. There is so much emotion behind his writing and he actually writes stuff that is genuinely creepy, like arms hair raised, pulse pounding creepy/ terror.
-I have three shady cats. All of them are asshol--. But then again most cats are :D But i do love them and they are all three rescues.
-I am married to a wonderful husband who is a bigger nerd than I am.
- And I think that is about it <3 anything else just DM me
