The story follows high school teacher Jaq Cummings who is seeking a relationship. It’s when Jaq meets messy divorcee Hannah that she swears its only a one night stand. But then one night turns into coffee, and then dinner, Jaq questions what she really wants. Its when a crisis at work happens that Jaq wonders if she should take a risk to get what she really wants.
One thing I loved about this book is that while being book two in a series it can be read as a standalone. Some things I should mention. one being that I loved how this book is truly geared towards women. Most books about lesbians have a certain story that feels as though it was written for some perverted man to pick up and pass certain judgments. This book is not that. It is definitely for women. Another I like is the other characters. The book does a great job of not stereotyping lesbians and their inner circle. It reads more like real life. This book is so heartfelt. The writing was brilliant and the plot was great. Their is really good character development and I loved our main character Jaq. Even though appearing butch on the outside, she is soft and loving on the inside. Hannah was great too and I loved reading her character and how she was handling her divorce because it seemed so realistic. This book is sure to warm your heart and make you feel so many emotions. Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest review. 5 stars from me!!!
