The review

I particularly didn’t care for the cover to this. I felt it looked kind of bland and the colors felt dull. I thought that the couple was beautiful and i loved their pose for the cover but I would have liked to seen it used a little better. I did like the central plot idea to this and thought it was sweet. The book did a good job as a contemporary romance. There were lots of surprises and plot twists that were unexpected. The writing was beautiful and read very light. It didn’t seem to feel like it dragged at all. The writer does a good job of painting a vivid picture of all scenes, and nothing felt over exaggerated or forced. The characters were well written and definitely develop as the book progresses. You see how beautifully flawed Erin is and how damaged and loving Slade is. Each one is is vividly enchanting. This book gets 4 stars from me! Thank you Nancy Glynn and LibraryThing for this book in exchange for my honest review.

The review

I loved the realism of this book. Being said that the characters and story line felt very real. This book warms the heart! I loved the writing style as it flowed smoothly. The writer did a good job of spinning a beautiful romance that didn’t feel forced. i also loved how the story changed views between Will and Gillian. The characters started out a little 1 dimensional but definitely developed as the book went on. While this type of story may seem over done, i encourage people to read it as it does have its own unique voice. 4 stars from me! The review

This story gave me so many chills and goosebumps! I was up till late at night reading this book and unable to put it down. The cover for this book was a wonderful choice and ignited sparks of fear before ever opening it. The main character Angela is brilliant! She is strong and smart and ready to do what it takes to solve the mystery surrounding her sister death. The prologue to this book was haunting and had me excited to delve right in. The writing style for this book was a bit different in its format but it was brilliant and i adored it. This book was as amazing as it was haunting. I hope to see more from this author. 5 stars from me. Thank you Erik Straker and LibraryThing for this book in exchange for my honest review.

The review

For a relatively short book, I found this quite heartfelt. This is definitely a good standalone read. From what I’ve seen this will be part a a larger series and so far each one I’ve read can be read as a standalone, although I feel they will reference past characters, etc. This is a super cute small novel leading up to For Rent. I love how Erin lead up to her second book in such a cute and heartfelt way. These are definitely  cozy read novels and I loved curling up to it with my cup of coffee on a rainy day. So far from the novels I’ve read, I have loved each character and what they brought to the table. Each one brings you so many different emotions. The plot was exquisite for a cozy read and the writing was captivating! I cant wait to see what else Erin brings us in this series. 4 stars from me! Thank you Erin Huss and LibraryThing for this lovely read.

For Rent by Erin Huss book review

for rent

The synopsis

From having to talk to the couple in Apt 22 about their loud bedroom “activities” to babysitting the man-child in Apt 40, she tackles it all. So, when crime in the community breaks out she adds detective to that list. Joining her are her sexy maintenance man Chase and one time love baby daddy, Tom. As the case unravels, she finds that maybe she’s been a naive accomplice all along.

The review

Cambria is a well written character that you have insta-love for. She is very reminiscent of a character from a Sophie Kinsella book, but only better. She battles her tenants antics daily with such a humorous manner. I loved the tenants antics and how laughable and yet frustrating (but in a good way) they were. You really feel immersed in this world from how descriptive the scenes were. The laugh out loud moments will keep you reading on! 4 stars from me! Mrs. Parsley Makes a Delivery and Other Stories by: Julian Padowicz book review

Mrs. Parsley makes a delivery

The synopsis

Mrs. Parsley is a good witch who with her dependable cat Laptop is a substitute for Santa, the Easter Bunny, and other fairy godmothers. However she does not possess their magic and must find her own means to get the job done.

The review

This book was so charming. The book contains many different chapters with each of them being a different errand or job that Mrs. Parsley and her cat Laptop do. Laptop is Mrs. Parsley’s magical cat that helps her with directions and controlling her broomstick. These two were so well written and I instantly adored them. Each little chapter story was a delight and was such a cozy read. While not being a large book, It was only about 128 pages and I felt it was perfect. The only complaint I had was that in some parts it felt a little overly descriptive but it was not enough that I would lower my rating. I’d like to see more little stories like this! Thank you Ravenswood for letting me read this in exchange for my honest review. 4 stars from me. Also can we note how adorable the cover is.

Once Upon A University by Savannah Ostler book review

Once upon a university

The synopsis

Our girl Albany is back and has just graduated Happily Ever After high. She now has a fairy godmother, a knight in shining armor and an eccentric grandmother. She thinks she has it all. Freshman year starts out wonderful, however a chain of events Albany’s life is send downward spiral. She now has to make a choice, and risk losing it all.

The review

This is the second book in the series and while I personally feel you could read it without having read book one, i don’t recommend skipping it. Book two I feel is even better. I loved this continuation. The story line was still pleasant and I was still fully engaged. I felt there was more of a deeper character development for this book as Albany grows more into herself. I still love this author’s writing and how detailed and vividly she paints a picture. I want to see more in this series, though maybe not Albany’s story. While i feel there could be more, I liked the ending as is. I’d love to see the story maybe from other perspectives surrounding Albany’s story. Most sequels don’t live up to the standard of book one but i was blown away by how much my love for this one surpassed my love of the first one.  Kudos for such a intriguingly beautiful novel! 5 stars from me! Thank you Ravenswood publishing for sending me this book in exchange for my honest review!
