Starflight by Melissa Landers book review.

Starflight by Melissa Landers is a YA book that was released back in February of this year. This story follows a ship mechanic named Solara Brooks. Solara isn’t just your typical girl though. She is an Outlaw with the felon tatts to prove it. So, she is trying to reach the outer planet to start over and make a new life for herself. She decides to indenture herself to Doran Spaulding, a rich, spoiled, self entitled (excuse the language) asshat, in exchange for passage. Doran decides to make Solaras life a living hell, but when Doran loses his memory, Solara gets back at him and they wind up on a space pirate ship and she gets a chance to get back at him. So with out giving away much more ill end the synopsis here.

Here’s my thoughts on the book.

First of all can we talk about how gorgeous the cover to this book is?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! My photo does not do it justice. Secondly it’s autographed(eeeekkkk fangirling..see pic below)!!

Okay now moving forward. This book is a 5 out 5 stars, no joke! I loved it from the beginning to the end. I read this in one day, from start to finish. I love Solar’s character, she is such a smart-ass, and quick-witted. She will have you laughing all the way through the book. And plus there is a huge plot twist you don’t see coming until its happening. ¬†Melissa Landers writing is soooooooo good. The story moves so smooth and fluid. However the only thing I can say which I mean no wrong by it, it is a typical romance story to a point. Melissa said her inspiration for the book was the 80’s movie “Overboard” starring Goldie Hawn. In the end, that’s why i picked this book up. If you havent seen Overboard and want to read this book wait, however if you have then it is basically that movies central plot just gender swapped. ….Also i have mentioned there pirates in this book? Not just any pirates but SPACE PIRATES!!!!!! how cool is that?? I wish there was going to be a second book continuing on with the main cast because you grow to love them so much. Melissa did say though, that she is writing a companion novel told through the eyes of the space pirates… (cant wait to see it)…. So if you’re looking for comedy, good times, some edge of the seat page turner, romance… this book has it all<3
